The first event in the series titled “Career Days: Instrumental Education Department Students Meet Local Artists,” organized by the Instrumental Education Department of the Turkish Music State Conservatory and aimed at contributing to students’ artistic and professional development, was held on March 4, 2026.
The program, coordinated by Associate Professor Dr. Haluk Bükülmez, Vice Director of our Conservatory, was conducted in a moderated format. Local artist and clarinet performer Savaş Zurnacı met with the department’s students and shared his experiences from his artistic career.
During the event, which was held as a talk session, the artist offered insights into performance practice, repertoire development processes, and professional dynamics encountered in a musical career. The program, which attracted significant interest from students, provided an important environment for learning and interaction, allowing the artist to directly convey his professional knowledge and experience.
Within the scope of the event, students had the opportunity to ask various questions regarding traditional performance practices, stage experience, and career planning in music, based on the artist’s shared experiences.
The program, which offered a qualified academic sharing environment supporting both theoretical and practical training processes of students, concluded with a group photo session.
At the end of the program, Vice Director Lecturer Anıl Nejat Sekmen presented certificates of appreciation to the event coordinator Associate Professor Dr. Haluk Bükülmez and to Savaş Zurnacı for their contributions.
The “Career Days: Instrumental Education Department Students Meet Local Artists” event series, organized by the Instrumental Education Department of the Turkish Music State Conservatory, continues in line with the planned schedule with the participation of different artists and keeps contributing to the professional and artistic development of students.
